Tobias & Co., Liverpool, England, man's pocket watch, 15 jewels, key wind and set, Swiss gilt bar movement with lever escapement in a silver hunting case with foliate engraving, case front with oval reserve containing an engraved portrait of George Washington and Roman numeral, single sunk, white enamel dial, fancy blued and gilt steel hands, 57mm, c1860.
CONDITION:
CASE: A few minor dings and dents; Minor scratches on outer surface of case; Rear cover with minor gap when closed; Scratches and abrasions on cuvette; Engraving with minor wear; Front lift spring broken; Hinges loose; Bow worn; Pusher worn. DIAL: Light hairlines and filled chip at 1:00. HANDS: Minor oxidation. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches; Ratchet cap missing one screw; Very dirty. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks), low amplitude.
